We all want to be efficient. And often we also feel the pressure that we ‘have to’ and have no other choice. But we have. And it is important to recognize this, to free ourselves from the pressure and to focus on giving the body what it needs so that it in turn provides us with everything we need to be truly efficient. After all, we are human beings and not machines.
But what does performance mean? Actually, much of the meaning is already in the word itself…
Being efficient does not happen at the push of a button
For me, it does NOT mean functioning optimally at all times and in all places, but being able to exploit your own potential. We are people, not machines. We don’t press buttons, turn up the dial or get energy reliably from the socket.
For me, it does NOT mean demanding the maximum from your body under all circumstances and at all times, but consciously using your own resources.
For me, it does NOT mean always thinking positively and blocking out everything negative, but rather reinforcing positive emotions and taking conscious and relaxed action.
It does NOT mean chasing an imaginary bar with all your might and being frustrated every time you don’t reach it or only just reach it. But to recognize that well-being comes from your inner attitude.
What can we do to support ourselves and our bodies?
To do this, we have to learn to recognize our potential and understand our needs. Only if we know what we need can we ensure that we get it. Have you ever looked at your nutritional requirements? Do you know how much of everything your body needs every day? And do you have any idea how well you are already nourishing yourself day by day with your current diet? It’s so exciting to take a closer look and do a kind of inventory. We often eat unconsciously, but even small changes can have a big impact on our well-being and performance.
Nothing works without the right nutrients. We need them for all of our body’s processes. This not only improves our overall quality of life, but also helps our body to prevent possible illnesses. Food and thus nutrients also give us the best and only basis – both professionally and privately – to be able to increase our own performance and maintain it in the long term. So eat yourself strong, happy and healthy!
And the best news at the end: performance is not a fixed state, but can be learned and developed. You will feel fresher, more focused and more energized! I know exactly what I’m talking about 😉
